A Toastmasters club is about public speaking and a typical meeting will give each participant an opportunity to speak.

7.30 Introductions – Introduction by the President and Handover to Toastmaster of the Evening
7.35 Introduction of Timer/Grammarian
7.40 Warm-Up (10 seconds each, we warm our vocal cords. Guests may pass)
7.50 Prepared Speeches (5-7 minutes unless otherwise advised)
These speeches that meet the objectives of assignments defined in the various Toastmasters speaking manuals. Up to four speeches per evening
8.35 Break (socialising)
8.50 Speech Evaluations (2 – 3 minutes each unless otherwise advised)
Evaluation is an important part of the Toastmasters training process and each speech will be evaluated by a fellow member whose role is to encourage the speaker and recommend ways in which the speech might be improved as well as highlighting the strengths the speaker already possesses. This process of analysis and recommendation also improves the evaluator’s own speaking skills.
9.00 Topics(1 – 2 minutes each) The fun part of the evening with impromptu speeches.
Each meeting will include a session of impromptu speeches in which members are invited to speak for around two minutes on a subject given without prior notice. Guests are welcome and encouraged to participate, however, only if they wish to.
